  • Dr. Jeremy Hurkman

Dr. Hurkman’s journey to become a chiropractor started when he was a child. When he was about 12 years old he developed severe back pain and abdominal pain issues. His mother took him to several medical doctors who diagnosed him as having constipation and suggested laxatives. When the problems did not resolve he was given muscle relaxers and referred to a physical therapist, who then put him in a brace for two years that went from his hips to his shoulders, wrapping around his entire torso. This not only did nothing for him but even made him worse by weakening his musculature.
This experience created a passion within him to study different methods of healing. He began to study medicinal plants, which introduced him to Eastern philosophy and ignited a strong desire to learn even more. He began to study martial arts in depth, and it was during this time he was introduced to acupuncture and later chiropractic. In utilizing acupuncture, he found great benefit for a variety of ailments, but it wasn’t until he discovered chiropractic that he found the answer for his long standing back and abdominal problems. This created the desire in him to help others the same way he was helped, and led to him obtaining his doctorates degree in chiropractic. To this day he is still passionate about healthcare, helping others, and loves his chosen career more every day!
